(no email last week, 7/11/16)
so this last weeek was quite the adventure. we started out last sunday night going down to busan for three days becasue my compnion had military training to go to. and whle we were there we preatty much just proseylated all say long. we met some cool people and some nice people and some interesting people. but all in all it was good. however when wednesday finally came around i was very glas to go back to my area of daegu. no place like 'home'. so then elder park and i got to hit the streets and appointments hard. and actually on my birthday we did excanges for a few hours with the AP's and you know it was none other than elder affleck who i ended up going with. (he is ap right now if you didnt know) i wish we could serve together again it would be so much fun and we wuld tear it up even better than we did in geoje. but anyways while my compnion was with the other ap, they met an old investigator of eder oh the korean ap./ his name is seo seonmin. and he is a homeless man. and he has had one of the hardest lifes i have ever heard of. he didnt get a chance to get further than a fifth grade education becaseu his step mother said they didnt have money to send him to school past fifth grade and it was not illegal at that time not to go to school. so he has no formal education. and you know some might say that he could still make a living but his left leg is partially paralyzed becasue he has a mini stroke when he was younger. and to top that off a few years back he took a job on some remote island where he worked for three years and got paid three hundred dollars. thats it. and to top that one off the company that he was working for stole his id and tood out a 40,000 dollar loan and didnt pay it back. so he got away from that somehow and now he is back here he has no place to go becasue he is embarassed to go to his father and his mother told him to just live in the streets. literally nowhere to go. and he cant get a regular job becase of his lack of housing and no way to contact him and he has the debt. but you wat to know waht the amazing thing about this man is? he is the happiest man i have ever seen in my life. he is the most positive man i have ever seen. literally nothing can bring a frown to this mans face. and he has a ton of faith. we met him and he completely ate up the message of the restoration and we gave him a baptismal date for next week (which might get delayed but we are meeting him everyday because we need to say in contact with him) and he accepted the baptismal invitation. unfortunatuely he didnt come to church yesterday because he got sick form eating the entire loaf of bread and cookies that we gave him. we told him to pace himself... but he did make the effort to call us and tell us that he would not be able to make it. that is miracle number one of this week
miracle number two is HARRY CAME TO CHURCH! harry had talked alittle about coming to church but never really showed any true interest in following through. but we called him two nights ago to invite him to the baptismal service of the zone leader's investigator and one thing led to another and he decided to come to church! and he loved it! especially gospel principles class. he also told me that he wants to give a tlak in sacrament meeting because it loks fun. when we met harry the first time i never would have guessed that he owuld actually end up going to church but it turns out anyone can change. thats what i want to testify about this week. anyone can change and become better that they were. no one is set in stone.
