this last week has been good. really good. as far as miracles go, most of the clearly visible ones have been when we were street proseylating. its amazing how the Lord leads you to people who are interested in the gospel. every time you find someone its always the last person you almost dont talk to, but do because you feel like you need to, or the man at the bus stop who was more than earshot away, but you try to go talk to himj anyway. I think the Lord really tests our faith while we work, and if we try our best, we recieve the blessings.
One thing i have come to know on my mission is that the Lord always comes through on his promises, sometimes we cant see t right away, but every snigle time he has been there for me. and i know its because he loves me and wants the best for me. sometimes he has been there for me by telling me no instead of yes. and sometimes he makes me wait instead of telling me exactly how to figure out a problem. He wants us to gain experiences and the only way for us to do that is to make choices. there is a quote that i read somewhere that goes along the lines of "Im sure the Lord is more anxious for us to make decisons, than to have us sit around all day and wait for directon." thats not the exact quote, but it has the main idea. i need to find that quote...
anyways, the mission is amazing. the work is amazing. sometimes i have no clue how tings will happen or unfold, actually alot of the times it is that way, but when we have a willing heart, and try our best and move foreward with 100% faith, they say it all the tme but its true. anything is possible.
yesterday make and my companion elder kim were street contacting in the evening and we came across a buddhist monk. we said hi and he was pretty friendly. we started talking to him, and after we got the basic parts of the conversation, like; where are you from? who are you? why are you here?... he started speaking really fast, and i couldnt rally understand him anymore because he began to not pronounce as clearly and used words ive never heard before. but from what i could gather from his hand motions, his repeated attempts at explanation, and later confirmation with my companion. he had been trying to tell me that i need to go home, re think my life and convert to buddhism.
there are so many interesting people that we meet. and the beautiful thing is that we are all children of our heavenly father and he loves us all the same, and wants us all to succeed. i know the church is true and hope you all have a great week!
