wow the time has flown that is for sure. but im glad i still have some time left to serve the Lord with all of my heart might mind and strength. this last week was pretty eventful. Elder Lees, goes home today he is finishing his mission. you know he was such a great example to all of us really. not a string of trunkie in him. he really shopwed me what it means to finish strong.
we alos visited some members this week. it was a great experience. lately when we visit members we have been sharing with them the talk 'choices' by President Monson. it is preatty short but soooo powerful. there is a part where presient monson encourages and invites us to chose 'the harder right instead of the easier wrong' and i have been thinking alot about this because in life there are always choices and we have to make them. even if we choose to do nothing that is still a choice and nobody ever helped anyone by doing nothing. and i havent qute been alive for 20 years yet, but in that short time i think the Lord has been making a loving point to help me learn that the easy life comes in two forms. laziness and exertion. now i know it sounds like an oxymoron, but when you think about it alittle. of course if we are lazy it is pretty easy to live, at least for the short term. and if you are 100% comitted to being lazy youll have a pretty uneventful life. but for some reason alot oof us find ourselves in the boat of continually switching back and forth between the lazy lie and the life of exertion where you can actually get things done. and that is the hardest life, becasue you never really feel like you are good enough to figure it out, but for some reason when we committ 100% to just do it. the act of doing and working hard becomes part of us.
i hope that made at least a little sense. but anyways. i have a new food i want to try. LIVE OCTOPUS! elder lees and his companion ate it this last week. its my next goal. and if you eat the right kind it wont kill you so dont worry. you have to eat the cut up kind not the whole kind.
another book i started reading was 'the power of everyday missionaries' by Clayton M Christiensen. i encourage all of you to check it out. it rocked my world.
i love you all and hope you all have a great week!
love,
elder Dobbins
