Hello everyone! so another transfer has come and gone and what do you know im still in the same area but i have a new companion. his name is elder No juncheol. he is in busan right now and he will get back at like three o clock or so. he was elder dietz last companion and i took elder dietz place on the A team in suesong. so training is officially done and now it is on to newer things. newer things being elder no and i are the zone leaders of daegu zone.
i bet you are all wondering what happened to our golden investigator seo seon min. well he kind of dropped off the face of the earth. and we have no way to contact him. as of right now we only know the general area where he resides and b team (elder park and his new companion elder martin) will be trying to hunt him down as he is their investigator.
there was a ward talent show on saturday night and what do you know harry sang a song in front of everyone. he is still coming around little by little. he invited his friend and his friends sister out to a soccer activity and to the talent show.
i was sitting and thinking during personal study about various things and all that thinking let to a thought. its about matthew 26:39. it is when Christ is starting his suffering in the garden of Gethsemane. and he asks God if there is any other way to do the task at hand. which if there had been i believe he would have taken. but as we all know there was no other way because Justice had to be paid so that mercy could be extended. and Christ even though he may not have wanted to do it, wanted to do his fathers will more. and because he loved his father and us so much, gave everything he had to us and submitted himself completely to the will of the father.
and that is what i was thinking about because life is not all happy go lucky sunshine and rainbows all the time. there are times where its more like dark clouds, fierce winds and lightning strikes. and we dont always just want to run headlong into the storm. there are times where we too dont want to do it. and the message i want to share today is that not wanting to do something is not a major cause for alarm. so long as we can understand the big picture and ultimately submit our will to God's, whatever it may be. and if i may quote the 'goman theory of truth' once again by saying "you do what you want to do" in any given situation you always have the power not to do something. you can always make that choice. and you can choose to do it. of course you can have a good or bad attitude about it, but in the end if you really dont want to do something bad enough you wont. and if you really want to bad enough you will. i think the important thing is moving forward always. the sunshine will come. your attitude can change. but inaction can never beat action. act act act do do do. and when you dont really want to just keep doing.
love,
elder dobbins
