Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. things here in Korea are better than ever, and I am loving the work more than i ever have in my life. today is transfer day, and im sad to say that elder powell and i will no linger be serving together, but i have another great companion named elder Goo! he is a Korean, from somewhere near soul, and e is an amazing missionary. we were actually in the mtc at the same time, but because koreans only spend 3 weeks in the mtc, he is starting his 8th transfer right now. he is such a fun elder, and i can already tell that he loves to work hard and loves the Lord, so this transfer will be a blast. also if you remember sister Lee who i was trained with in andong, she just came to geyongju today, and we are serving together again! it is really crazy, because usually when you serve with someone you never serve with them again. but it will be fun.
someone asked me if i am used to sleeping on the floor yet, and yes i absolutely am, the rock hard floor, is honestly one of my favorite places in the world now. i went on exchanges a few transfers ago and they had mattresses in that house, and i didn't sleep very well because it was so soft. i love the ground. last friday, we had a talent show/ farewell party for the missionaries who are leaving and it was so funny. we played charades, and it was one of the funniest things i have ever seen in my life. Korean people spare no expense when trying to act out a dinosaur or snowman. another one of the people participating in the talent show told me and elder powell to come up, and right there he started to teach us taequando. i can do a middle punch, high block, low block, straight kick, and i can do a side kick.
i think that the thing i am most excited about for this transfer is the opportunity that the Lord has given me to apply all that he taught me last transfer. honestly i could go on for days about all that he has taught me, and about the things i have learned, but i really think it comes down to 'remembering who you are, and acting accordingly" when we do that, when we remember that we are children of our heavenly father, and that as such we need to act in accordance with our divine potential, everything falls into place. by no means is it easy, and it isnt meant to be, but we know how this story ends, and if we keep going faithful to the end, it will be well worth it, i know that Christ lives, and that he loves us, and that he will do anything for us. he already has done everything for us.
Love,
Elder Dobbins
